Our Story

Join us on our incredible journey of Trident Military Cigars, a brand born from the shared passion for cigars, history, and the Armed Forces between two friends in January 2019. As veterans ourselves, we envisioned creating a cigar company that would serve and support those who have served, continue to serve, and all true cigar enthusiasts.

Our mission is clear – to offer a delightful, high-quality, and affordable product that caters to both newcomers and seasoned aficionados alike. From battlefields to ballrooms, we want you to savour our cigars in every moment.

In our pursuit to keep history alive, our cigar boxes narrate captivating tales of valour, courage, and sacrifice from the past. We find inspiration from the Cenotaph in London, where “The glorious dead” are honoured, reminding us of the profound significance of the past’s great battles and war stories.

Our values are deeply rooted in the principles of the Armed Forces and all public services. We strive to embody the same commitment, courage, and selflessness in everything we do.

Crucially, our mission extends beyond cigars. We are dedicated to giving back to those in need, including those who have served alongside us, previous generations, and future ones who may require assistance. To fulfil this commitment, we proudly collaborate with Jack English and James Elliott, funding one-to-one therapy sessions and PTSD awareness training.

Moreover, we are honoured to contribute to SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity, and Scotty’s Little Soldiers. For every box sold, we pledge to donate 10% of our box sales to these two worthy causes, as well as fund vital one-to-one therapy sessions with Jack and James.

The weight of mental health challenges within the veteran community is something we know all too well, as we have tragically lost close friends to depression, PTSD, and Combat Stress. Our resolve is unwavering – we will not stand idly by while our veterans and serving members suffer in silence.

Join us in saying “Enough is Enough.” Together, let us cherish the past, honour the present, and ensure a brighter future for all those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.

Meet the Team

Hugh Dixon

Hugh proudly served in the Parachute Regiment for over four years, during which he had the privilege of being a part of A Company, C Company, and the Patrols Reconnaissance Platoon. Following his service, he transitioned to the 144 Airborne Medical Reserve Regiment, where he excelled as a Combat Medic Technician 2. Hugh's journey has taken him around the world, allowing him to meet remarkable individuals and experience diverse cultures. These experiences have not only shaped him but also provided invaluable growth that Hugh now brings to Trident Military Cigars.

"Throughout my journey, I've been lucky enough to form deep friendships with people who possess extraordinary knowledge about cigars. To these friends, you know who you are, my hope is that our bonds remain as strong as ever, as we continue to share our passion for cigars. True friendships, ignited by a shared love, are a testament to the power of common interests and the joy they bring into our lives. My sole mission is to propel Trident Military Cigars to its greatest heights while simultaneously giving back, offering assistance, and relishing every moment of the journey." - Hugh

Nick Preston

Nick's military career spanned 23 years, encompassing service with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and the Rifles, London Regiment as a reservist. His extensive service included four operational tours in Telic (Iraq) and one in Kosovo, primarily stationed in Germany. Nick's role as a warrior infantry fighting vehicle gunner and expertise in anti-tank weapon systems, including the Javelin, exemplified his dedication.

Beyond the military, Nick's love for cigars blossomed from childhood memories of his father's enjoyment during Christmas. This passion evolved into a deep appreciation for cigars' social dimension and diverse flavors. Cigars became a means for Nick to foster connections, promote mental health awareness, and find relaxation.

Nick's friendship with Hugh, driven by their shared love for cigars, led to the inception of Trident Military Cigars. Their mission to support military personnel stemmed from personal experiences of loss among friends and colleagues due to mental health issues. This shared commitment reflects the importance of addressing these challenges, even when acknowledged by only a few.

The Trident Covenant

A covenant is a formal and binding agreement or contract between two or more parties, typically outlining specific rights, responsibilities, and commitments. It often involves a mutual exchange of promises or obligations, where each party agrees to fulfill certain conditions or adhere to certain terms.

In the context of Trident Military Cigars, “The Trident Covenant” could refer to a unique and distinctive commitment made by the company to its customers and the broader community. This covenant might encompass the core values and principles that Trident Military Cigars upholds, as well as the promises they make to their customers, business partners, and the military community.
